Leipzig and the Battle of Nations 1813

Experience fascinating history with our guide in a 1813 Prussian guard officer uniform.

You will discover the places and monuments that marked this event of European history known as the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig 1813. And of course you can also enjoy many of the other attractions of Leipzig, the city of Johann Sebastian Bach, city of fairs and congresses, city of books, city of cabarets, etc. ...

Our tour will take you to the Russian Memorial Church, that is both a museum and an orthodox parish, St. Alexis, built in October 1913 in memory of the 22,000 Russian soldiers killed during the Battle of the Nations.

You will walk on the historic battlefield of 1813 and visit the Poniatovski Monument and the monument commemorating the bridges blown up during the battle of October 13, 1813.

Come and discover the world’s most beautiful collection of little tin figures of the Napoleonic era exhibited in the historic gatehouse in Dölitz. Experience a bit of those days while having a bivouac snack on the former battlefield.

It was in fact one of the biggest defeats of Napoleon, but did you know that the Saxons entered the battle on the French side? Listen to our tour guide’s little stories and anecdotes about Napoleon, the French and Leipzig.

The program

DAY 1

* 2 pm Arrival in Leipzig by coach.

* 3 pm Two-hour coach tour through Leipzig. One-hour walk through the city center with tasting of a Prussian coffee specialty.

* Dinner at the **** hotel.

DAY 2

* 9 am Breakfast at the hotel.

* 9.30 am Departure for the coach circuit.

* 11 am Visit to the Battle of the Nations Memorial Museum.

* 1 pm Visit to the tin soldiers exhibition in the historic gatehouse in Dölitz.

* 2.30 pm Bivouac snack break. Coach circuit continues.

* 6 pm Dinner at the restaurant "Napoleon".

DAY 3

* Breakfast at the **** hotel.

* Departure on your coach to the famous Monument of
the Battle of the Nations 1813.

* Guided visit to the Monument of the Battle of the Nations and the 1813 Museum.
