The region of Saxony region has a rich history and many secrets. We will open the doors to old manufactories and will make you discover Meissen Porcelain, the Glashütte Watch Manufactory, the Rotkäppchen Sparkling Wine Cellar, the Erzgebirge mountains with the village of Seiffen where traditional wooden Christmas decorations have been manufactured for hundreds of years.

Let us enter into a fairy tale. We have chosen two charming stages and compiled the following program:

DAY 1

Before arriving in Chemnitz, you will stop in Freyburg to visit the old Rotkäppchen Sparkling Wine Cellar.
Arrival at the Chemnitz Renaissance Hotel in the evening.
Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2

In the morning, visit to the historical Kassberg district in Chemnitz with its art deco architecture, then departure for the villages of Seiffen and Olbernhau in the Erzgebirge. Visit to a wood crafters’ manufactory and to the enchanting village of Seiffen dedicated to traditional wooden Christmas decorations. Visit to a traditional glass factory in Olbernhau.
Lunch at an inn.
Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at the Chemnitz Renaissance Hotel.

DAY 3

In the morning, departure for Meissen to visit Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory and the old town.
Discovered in China in the 8th century, the kaolin-based hard porcelain was brought to Europe in the 13th century by Marco Polo.
It was only in 1709 in Saxony that the young alchemist Frederick Böttger discovered the porcelain formula and found by chance a kaolin deposit in the Meissen region.
Lunch at a restaurant in Meissen.
On we go to Leipzig. Arrival in mid-afternoon. Free time in Leipzig.
Joint dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight at the Leipzig Westin Hotel.

DAY 4

Visit to the Leipzig city center, St. Thomas Church where Johann Sebastian Bach worked as a choirmaster and where he now lies buried, St. Nicholas Church, the starting point of the peaceful revolution that brought down the Berlin Wall in 1989…
Lunch at Auerbachs Cellar that Goethe chose for the Mephistopheles scene in his Faust drama. In the afternoon, visit to the impressive monument built in honor of all those who were killed during the Battle of the Nations in 1813.
Joint dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight at the Leipzig Westin Hotel.

DAY 5

After breakfast buffet, return home.
